CVMaple at a glance

What is CVMaple?

CVMaple is an online resume builder made for the Canadian job market. You can write a resume in English or French, check an existing one for free, tailor it to a job posting, and download a PDF that applicant tracking systems can read. A small team in Ontario builds and supports it, and you can start for free without a credit card.

It started with a blank Word document.

It started the way most Canadian job searches do: a blank Word document, a cup of Tim Hortons, and a sinking feeling that this resume was never going to get past the robots. We spent hours reformatting. We tweaked bullet points at midnight. We copied templates that looked great online and printed like a mess.

Then came the rejections. Applications disappeared into the void. No callback, no feedback, just silence. It wasn't because we weren't qualified. Our resumes just weren't written in the language hiring software actually reads.

So we built CVMaple. Not a Silicon Valley startup with venture capital and a ping-pong table. Just a small team in Canada who got tired of watching talented people get filtered out by software before a person ever looked at their resume.

Your resume should open doors, not close them.

The people who get filtered out often have the most to offer.

Every week, thousands of Canadians apply for jobs with resumes that never reach a recruiter. It hits hardest for newcomers, career changers and people coming back to work after a break. If you have the skills and the drive, your resume should open doors, not close them.

CVMaple helps you build a resume that screening software can read, that follows what Canadian employers expect, and that looks clean and professional on the page. No fluff and no jargon. Just a tool that does what it says it does.

New to Canada? Start with our newcomer resume guide. It covers the habits that trip people up most, like listing a photo or a full home address.

The CVMaple blog goes deeper, from applicant tracking systems to cover letters. Each article is written by one of the CVMaple authors.

Everything you need to go from a blank page to a sent application.

Each tool works on its own, and they all share the same resume. If you would like to see a finished Canadian resume first, browse our resume examples by job title.

How we work

We are just getting started.

CVMaple keeps growing. Most of what we build next comes straight from the messages people send us: a template that needed a tweak, a French phrase that sounded off, a check that could explain itself better. We read every one, because this tool is built for you.

Our goal is simple. Help more Canadians get past the resume black hole and into interviews. If we can do that, everything else takes care of itself.
