Terms of Service
These terms are the agreement between you and CVMaple when you use our resume builder. We've kept the legal meaning and dropped as much jargon as we could. Please read them before you sign up or pay for anything.

The short version
- You own the resumes and cover letters you write here.
- AI suggestions are drafts. It's up to you to check them before you send a resume.

- The $3.99 trial and single downloads are one-time charges. They never renew.
- Payments are final, but we'll look at any charge that went wrong. See the Refund Policy.
- Ontario law applies.
1. Accepting these terms
By using CVMaple ("the service"), you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
2. What CVMaple is
CVMaple is an online resume builder made for Canada. It helps you write, format and download resumes and cover letters, check a resume against a job posting, and keep track of your applications. Some features use AI. There's a free plan and paid plans with more features and higher limits, all described on the pricing page.
3. Your account
You need an account to build, save and download resumes. Please give us accurate details, keep your password to yourself, and tell us straight away at support@cvmaple.ca if you think someone else has used your account. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
4. Using CVMaple fairly
You agree not to:
- Use the service for anything illegal
- Create a resume or cover letter meant to deceive an employer, such as fake degrees, jobs you never held or someone else's identity
- Try to get into parts of the service, or other people's accounts, that you aren't allowed to reach
- Overload, disrupt or attack our servers
- Scrape or copy the service with bots or other automated tools
- Get around usage limits, for example by opening several free accounts
5. Who owns what
Your content is yours. You keep full ownership of the text you write and the resumes and cover letters you make, including the parts an AI tool helped draft.
The service is ours. CVMaple owns the website, the app, the code, and the templates and their designs. We give you a personal, non-exclusive licence to use our templates and AI output to apply for jobs and manage your own career. You can't sell or hand out the templates themselves as a product.
So that we can run the service, you allow us to store, process and display your content, and to send it to the providers listed in the Privacy Policy. We only use it to provide CVMaple to you.
6. AI-written content
Some features use AI to write or rewrite text. AI output is a suggestion, not advice. It can be wrong, out of date or a poor fit for a particular job. You're responsible for reading, editing and checking everything before you use it, especially dates, job titles, numbers and anything you say you've done.
We don't promise that an AI draft will be accurate or complete, or that it will get you an interview.
7. Payments, plans and renewals
Paid plans are billed through Stripe. Prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD) unless we say otherwise.
- Pro and Elite plans renew automatically every month or every year, depending on what you chose, until you cancel. By subscribing, you allow us to charge your payment method at each renewal.
- The 7-day trial is a one-time charge of $3.99 CAD for 7 days of Pro. It doesn't turn into a subscription. When it ends, your account goes back to the free plan.
- Single downloads are one-time charges for one PDF, priced by template. Your first PDF download is free.
- Cancelling: cancel any time on the Billing page. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again.
Because you get access the moment you pay, payments are final. If something has gone wrong with a charge, contact us and we'll look at it personally. The Refund Policy has the details.
8. The free plan
The free plan has limits. Some reset each month, such as the number of resumes you can create. Others are a one-time starter allowance that does not reset, such as AI resume builds, AI rewrites and resume checks. You can see your current limits in your account. We may change the free plan's limits, and we'll give reasonable notice when we do.
9. Keeping the service running
We work hard to keep CVMaple online, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. It may be down now and then for maintenance, updates or reasons outside our control. We aren't responsible for losses caused by those interruptions, so keep your own copy of any resume you can't afford to lose.
10. Limits on our liability
As far as the law allows, CVMaple isn't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses from using the service, such as a missed job opportunity, lost data or lost income. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection law that can't be waived by contract.
11. No warranties
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We don't give warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantable quality, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement, except where the law says we must.
12. Closing an account
We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms.
You can stop using CVMaple whenever you like. To have your account and data deleted, email privacy@cvmaple.ca, and we'll handle it as the Privacy Policy describes. If you have a paid plan, cancel it on the Billing page first.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute will be settled by the courts of Ontario, unless the consumer protection law where you live gives you the right to go to court there.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we make an important change, we'll let you know by email or in the app. If you keep using CVMaple after that, the new terms apply. The date at the top shows when they last changed.
15. Contact

Can I cancel my CVMaple plan at any time?
Yes. Cancel on the Billing page whenever you like. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again.

No. The trial is a one-time charge of $3.99 CAD for 7 days of Pro. When it ends, your account moves back to the free plan and nothing else is charged.
